SUMMARY Plan, analyze, recommend, install, upgrade and support the County's systems and network including but not limited to:
servers, server applications, backup hardware and software, operating systems and other types of software.
Prepare, manage and test backup and disaster recovery plan for all county data (excluding IBM platform).
Maintain physical elements of data centers (cooling, power, etc.
) Participate in the design and planning of infrastructure to support new applications and technologies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Plan, analyze, recommend, install, upgrade and support Microsoft server technology including (but not limited to) server and desktop operating systems, active directory and group policy Plan, analyze, recommend, install, upgrade and support Microsoft application server technology including (but not limited to) WSUS, SMS and SQL Plan, analyze, recommend, install, upgrade and support Symantec Backup Exec, tape drives and libraries, proper backup and data preservation techniques Plan, analyze, recommend, install, upgrade and support data center physical elements (cooling, power, etc.
) Advise Operational Network Manager on recurring hardware and software problems.
Plan or organize assigned tasks.
Assist IT department in the installation, testing, troubleshooting and repair of category 5 and 6 network cable and related hardware, such as patch panels and wall plates.
Maintain County issued vehicle and equipment in a clean and good working condition.
KNOWLEDGE OF SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This is a non:
supervisory position.
