9200 JOB SUMMARY Responsible for overseeing the delivery of a broad range of core programs within a designated Club, including education and career development, sports, fitness and recreation, the Arts, character and leadership development, and health and life skills.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES ? Plans, develops, oversees implementation, and supervises programs and program staff and performs program-related administrative duties.
? Oversee the implementation and delivery of operations, programs, services, and activities that facilitate achieving the organization's program goals and outcomes.
? Monitors and evaluates situations quickly, using good judgment to make decisions and take appropriate action.
? Convey caring and proper guidance in ongoing interactions with members, parents, and staff that demonstrate responsiveness and connectedness by creating a positive environment.
? Meets goals and deadlines for grants and targeted outcomes ? Oversees discipline and guidance procedures to ensure consistency in the rules and expectations throughout the Club ? Effectively evaluate programs and make program recommendations or changes based on the success of the programs ? Effectively communicate with and mentor staff to be leaders and to embrace the organizational mission.
? Assist Unit Director in managing Youth Development Professionals (YDP) / Part-Time Staff.
? Work closely with the Unit Director regarding the program's planning and implementation and the individual site's goals/vision.
? Oversee proper record-keeping and reporting, including activities and events, member participation, notable achievements, and any problems/issues.
? Participate in BGCPB functions as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS Preferred
Qualifications:
? Three years experience in facilitating, developing and implementing programs for youth, and at least 1-year staff supervisory experience ? Experience in facilitating, developing, and implementing youth development programs ? Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills ? Passion for youth development and the mission of the organization ? Ability to communicate effectively with young people from diverse and high-risk backgrounds, ages 6+, parents, and other organizational personnel in a courteous and professional manner ? Ability to deal effectively with multi-age children, small groups of children in activities and free play, and large groups of children in organized activities ? Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire ? Ability to work independently and efficiently ? Strong volunteer management skills ? Must be able to problem-solve, troubleshoot, use reflective thinking, and the ability to work as a member of a dynamic team ? Experience in cash handling and payment processing; light bookkeeping experience preferred ? Must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and good driving record to transport passengers ages 6-18 from schools to our club sites and on field trips ? Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, & holidays ? Spanish speaking preferred ? College hours/degree field (optional) ? Must pass National Criminal Background Check and Drug Test PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
